Today is day of thanks where families come together to celebrate with large feast of food, from turkey, mashed potatoes, vegetables, and for some cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie, if you so desire. For me this year comes with a different feeling of hope. This my first thanksgiving without my love Paco here with me physically, but he is here with me spiritually!
Our Thanksgiving was never a traditional dinner, as my love was from Mexico and this day was not celebrated in his home country, but he learned to embrace our traditions and then we decided one day to create our own family tradition. We cooked, Frijoles, carnitas', Pico de Gallo, and of course pumpkin pie! Although is favorite pie was pecan! 💕
We always started our Thanksgiving week off with cleaning but of course he did all the work, as I was usually working, well this year, I took off the week, and I did all the cleaning, and it was brutal to say the least, but I know he was guiding me to not slow down and finish so the house would be fresh and clean to spend the day with my family. This year I am serving a traditional thanksgiving with the help my of niece Jasmine! Turkey is the oven and the music is on blasting and all Paco's favorite music! Life is very different for me this year, and will be different next year as well, and each year there after. As he will not be here with me physically but he will always be here with me in my heart Today and everyday there after!
The loss of a loved one is the hardest thing in life to endure, but we must continue to move forward, as this is what they would want us to do and the struggle is real everyday and with the grace of god there go I, and I put one foot in front of the other to wake up and begin the day new and fresh.
To Paco! Padre nuestro, que estás en el cielo. Santificado sea Tu nombre.
Venga tu reino.
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Thank you to all read and follow me in my journey of sorrow and life learning adventures of learning to life as 1 in place of 2!
Many thanks!
God speed!
